Abstract: Hickson Compact Groups (HCGs) are high-density environments which provide an excellent laboratory for the study of galaxy mergers. We present a morphological study of two groups, HCG 92 and HCG 97, with a focus on areas of star formation triggered by intra-group interactions. We observed HCG 97 in R and Hα on KPNO’s WIYN 0.9m telescope, and these data are analyzed in combination with radio data for HCG 97 from the VLA and deep B and R data for HCG 92, also from the WIYN 0.9m. The chief regions of active star formation in HCG 92 are identified using color data and these findings are analyzed in the context of previous studies. In HCG 97, synchrotron features are examined and several regions of young stars and tidally disturbed dwarf members are found within the group.
