Abstract
My thesis is about liberalism and its relation to women. I analyze liberal political theory, how that theory becomes embedded in the American Constitution, and eventually becomes the "right to privacy." Then I analyze feminist theorists and their critique of the right to privacy and law as a masculine discourse. Finally, I analyze feminist critiques of liberalism in general and the larger discourse of privacy. Ultimately, I conclude that liberalism is a worthwhile discourse for women's rights and women's advancement.
