Abstract
This paper explores the limits of how established computer vision techniques can be applied to the problem of grading simple assignments. The goal is to allow teachers to be able to keep a traditional assessment format but grade automatically and e fficiently using a mobile device. This low-cost, portable solution will be compared with traditional hand- grading. The results are measured in terms of accuracy and efficiency. This paper is then benchmarked against a similar project from 2012 that used webcams to grade multiple-choice exams.
