Highlights from the inauguration of Alfred H. Bloom as the thirteenth president of Swarthmore College. Mary Schmidt Campbell speaks about Lucretia Mott, the Frionas, an all-women a cappella group, perform, Antonio Goodwin sings a spiritual, dancers perform a Chinese lion dance, Niel Austrian and Samuel L. Hays speak on the selection process, Alfred Bloom speaks about ethical intelligence, and the guests sing the Alma Mater. A reception follows the ceremony, with various world music and dance performances. The follows a symposium with Herbert C. Coleman, Maxine Frank Singer, Henry L. Gates, and Barry Schwartz.
