Abstract
Swarthmore College commencement, class of 1983. The ceremony includes a student address on how to deal with disagreement and respect difference; a review of the 1982-1983 scholastic year by David Fraser, including debates on the nuclear arms war, the closing of the delta upsilon fraternity, financial decisions such as that to give financial aid to students who refused to register for the draft, and discussions on racial profiling; honorary degrees to Julian Cornell, Alister (?), Alan Peters, and Barbara Kerr (?); and the awarding of diplomas.
